Man Charged With Selling Drugs Out Of Wallingford Home: Police

Police interrupted an alleged cocaine transaction and arrested the suspect, who they say has prior convictions for selling narcotics.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Wallingford man is accused of selling drugs out of his home after police interrupted an alleged cocaine transaction on Friday.

During the past several months, the Wallingford Police Department Narcotics Unit received information that Vincent Narvaez, 26, was selling narcotics from his residence on Franklin Street, according to Lt. Michael Colavolpe.

Colavolpe said police are familiar with Narvaez, who has two prior convictions and one pending case for sales of narcotics.

On Feb. 17, detectives saw a vehicle pull in front Narvaez’s residence and he got into the back seat of the vehicle, according to Colavolpe.

“As the vehicle circled the block, detectives believed a narcotic transaction was taking place and conducted a motor vehicle stop with the assistance of patrol officers,” Colavolpe said in a press release. “As officers approached the vehicle, Narvaez was reaching into his pants pocket. During a search of his person, approximately one and a half grams of cocaine was located in the pocket Narvaez was reaching into.”

One of the occupants in the vehicle admitted to police that while they were circling the block they purchased $50 worth of cocaine from Narvaez, according to Colavolpe.

“The occupant stated they normally purchase marijuana from Narvaez but this evening wanted to try cocaine,” Colavolpe said. “The occupant turned over the bag of cocaine they just purchased, which was approximately one and a half grams.”

Inside the vehicle, police discovered a plastic bag that contained approximately 5 grams of marijuana and two Xanax pills, which Narvaez said both belonged to him, according to Colavolpe.

Xanax is a controlled substance, which Narvaez didn’t have a prescription for, and police found about one and a half ounces of marijuana in his home during a subsequent search, Colavolpe said.

Narvaez was charged with sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and possession of marijuana.

Narvaez was held on a $10,000 bond and was assigned a court date of March 3 at Meriden Superior Court.
