Men Charged with Selling Crack Cocaine Out of Wallingford Apartment: Police

Police say the arrests are the culmination of a lengthy investigation.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Two men have been charged with selling crack cocaine out of their apartment on South Cherry Street following a lengthy investigation by the Wallingford Police Department.

During the past several months, the Wallingford Police Department Narcotics Unit received information that drugs were being sold out of an apartment at the Judd Square Apartment Complex, 44 South Cherry Street, according to Lt. Michael Colavolpe.

Detectives identified two of the residents as Jeremy Rodriguez and Heriberto “Eddie” Lebron. Colavolpe said both subjects are familiar to the police department and Rodriguez has an “extensive criminal history to include narcotic sales.”

Rodriguez was served with an arrest warrant as he was leaving the apartment complex on Nov. 10. Colavolpe said the warrant stems from a month’s long investigation where Rodriguez sold crack cocaine to a police informant.

After taking Rodriguez into custody, a search warrant was served on the apartment.

“Lebron was located inside the apartment and taken into custody after crack cocaine and the prescription medication ‘Xanax’ was discovered,” Colavolpe said in a press release. “Additionally, while detectives were executing the search warrant a customer of Lebron’s arrived at the apartment to purchase crack cocaine. The customer cooperated with police and Lebron was charged accordingly.”

Rodriguez, 30, was charged with three counts of sale of narcotics and four counts of possession of narcotics. Rodriguez was held on a $51,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned at Meriden Superior Court on Nov. 14.

Lebron, 42, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lebron was released on a $5,000 bond and will appear at Meriden Superior Court on Nov. 23.
