Moms Speak Out After Hit-And-Run Crash In Wallingford: Report

WALLINGFORD, CT — Several mothers are urging the driver involved in a hit-and-run that injured their sons last week in Wallingford to come forward, according to FOX 61.

The mothers spoke to FOX 61 and said their sons are still in a lot of pain, but they are grateful it wasn’t worse.

One mother said her 14-year-old son suffered two lacerated kidneys and a concussion, while the mother of the injured 13-year-old said her son is walking with a limp and suffered a back and neck injury, according to FOX 61.

Police said the pedestrians were struck on Highland Avenue near Johnson Road around 5:40 p.m. on Sept. 14. An investigation found that three juveniles had been walking along Highland Avenue when two of them were struck by a dark-colored pickup truck that was traveling west on Highland Avenue, Sgt. Stephen Jaques said at the time.

Jaques said the evading vehicle is described as a newer model dark-colored (possibly Ford F-150) full-size pickup truck with dark-colored rims and possible damage to the front passenger side/bumper area.

Police are still searching for the driver, and anyone with information and/or surveillance video is asked to contact the Wallingford Police Traffic Division at 203-294-2815.
