The homeowner found the man inside the home, immediately left and called police, according to officials.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A man was arrested after police said he broke into a home while he was naked Thursday morning in Wallingford.
Police responded to a home on North Turnpike Road around 9 a.m. after the homeowner arrived, found the man inside the house, then immediately left and called police, according to Sgt. Stephen Jaques.
Arriving officers took control of the scene and isolated the man inside the home, according to Jaques.

Jaques said traffic on North Turnpike Road was shut down in both directions for a short time “out of an abundance of caution” for the safety of residents.
Police believed the suspect was Ian Wigget based on a possible previous related incident, according to Jaques.

Jaques said police determined that Wigget broke a window to get into the home. Police made numerous attempts to contact Wigget at his most recent telephone number and via loud speaker but weren’t successful, according to Jaques.
“The decision was made to send officers inside the home to apprehend Wigget,” Jaques wrote in a news release. “Officers then entered the home and took custody of Wigget inside the home without incident. Shortly after, all traffic closures were terminated and traffic returned back to normal.”
Wigget was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, interfering with an officer and second-degree criminal mischief. He was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond with a court date of Aug. 10.
