New Ax-Throwing Venue Opening In Wallingford

Wallingford will soon become home to the state's latest ax-throwing venue.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford will soon become home to the state’s latest ax-throwing venue, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports Wallingford resident Jerry Ferraro will open Blue Ox Axe Throwing in early August in a former warehouse at 21B North Plains Industrial Road. Ax-throwing is gaining popularity in several markets and the Blue Ox will be the third such venue in Connecticut.

Montana Nights in Newington is opening later this month and the Newington Planning and Zoning Commission recently endorsed a permit that allows the operators to sell adult beverages, namely wine, beer and cider and wine, at their facility.

According to its Facebook page, the Blue Ox Axe Throwing “sprouted as an idea when co-owner, Gerald Ferraro was in Minnesota for his childhood friend’s bachelor party. After partaking in the activity, Gerald and his friend believed Wallingford would be a great market for this indoor recreation. With Wallingford’s growing population and economy, it seemed to make perfect sense. Together, with his partner, Maggie Slivinski, the plan was set into place to open Connecticut’s Premier Axe Throwing Venue.”
