‘No Shave November’ Coming To An End For Wallingford Police
Police have nearly doubled their fundraising goal (there's still time to donate). A best-and-worst beard contest will be held on Dec. 1.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Police Department has nearly doubled its fundraising goal for “No-Shave November” as the campaign heads into its final days for this year. As part of the campaign, each officer donated a minimum of $50 to the Matthew Hill Foundation to participate and be allowed to grow their facial hair.
Typically, officers must be clean shaven, with minor exceptions. However, from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30 officers that donated grew their facial hair to raise awareness for cancer research and education.
The Department’s goal was $3,000 but the Wallingford Police Department has raised a total of $5,716 as of Tuesday morning.

“For 2017, No-Shave November funded some great organizations: Prevent Cancer Foundation, Fight Colorectal Cancer, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,” police said in a press release.
On Dec. 1, Dino’s Modern Barbershop, located at 202 Center Street, is joining the Wallingford Police Department in spreading awareness of this disease by donating their time to shave participating officers. Officers will be meeting at Dino’s Modern Barbershop on at 8 a.m. on Dec. 1 to receive a fresh shave. There will also be a best and worst beard contest for attending officers, judged by employees of Dino’s.
