Obituary: Ervin W. Crook, 87, of Wallingford
Ervin, a U.S. Air Force veteran, worked for Tyler Equipment and White Oak Corporation as an Equipment Manager.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Ervin W. Crook, 87, of Wallingford, CT, and Clermont, FL, died peacefully Monday March 16,2020 at The CT Hospice. He was the beloved husband of the late Jane I. Crook.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, March 20,1932 a son of the late Charles and Avis (Lunn) Crook and was a US Air Force Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He attended school in Uxbridge, MA, and his first job was with the Town of Uxbridge.
He was then employed by Hedge and Mattheis Company in Needham, MA, and was a member of the Local 4 Operating Engineers. While at Hedge and Mattheis he was given a sales position in the Meriden, CT, office and relocated his wife and children to Wallingford, CT.

He was also employed with Tyler Equipment and White Oak Corporation as a Equipment Manager Ervin’s ability to fix anything with a motor earned him his nick name of “DOC”
He was a member and past Master at Center Lodge #97 Meriden, CT. A member of Scottish Rite, Hamilton Council #22 and Keystone Chapter #27.

He is survived by his six children, Charles Crook (Janeen), Cynthia Nunez (Jaime), Donna Plunske (Scott Suzio), Wayne Crook, Deborah Scarpa-Mezza (Paul LoRusso), and Neil Crook. His 17 Granchildren Amy Crook, Abbey Crook (Matthew Murchison), Charlie Crook (Danielle Abate), Kristin Crook, Maxwell Crook, Matthew Crook, Jaime Nunez ( Tina), Sarah Nunez (Ryan Guimond),Rachael D’Andre (Carl), James Plunske (Melanie), Jonathan Plunske (Kristen), Valerie Cippoli (John), Kristine Crook, Wayne Crook Jr., Cassidy Crook, Christopher Scarpa (Samantha), and Heather Mezza. 10 great grandchildren Kayla Jenkins, Alana Boucher, Madelyn Murchison, Jaxon Crook, Elora Guimond, Vanessa Plunske, Devyn and Jaxson Plunske, Lyla Jean Franz, Harper Scarpa. Several nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by a brother Francis “Coke” Crook and sister in Law Dorthy.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, August 1, at 11 am at In Memoriam Cemetery, 18 Maplewood Ave., Wallingford.
