Obituary: Gary J. King, of Wallingford

Gary Joseph King passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020. Gary was a longtime resident of Wallingford.

He is survived by his mother and step father, Christie Vanags Rice and Scott Rice; his grandmother, Patricia Vanags; his siblings, Bobby King and his wife Danielle, Daniel Rice, Katelyn Rice, Jennifer Rice and John Vanags Rice; his father, Robert King of Wisconsin; his uncle, Barry Rice; his aunt, Melissa Vanags; his cousin, Dallas King; two nieces; one nephew and many other relatives.

Gary was a truly exceptional young man whose road in life was a difficult one. He will be truly missed.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, John Vanags; his great grandmothers, Zuzzanne Vanags and Goldie Masselli; his paternal grandparents, Lester and Delores King; his uncles, Joe Vanags and Peter Vanags; and his aunt, Mara Ashline.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Friday, Feb. 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to Tricircle Inc., 6 Way Rd., Middlefield, CT 06455.
