Obituary: Holly B. (Green) Copeland, 54, of Wallingford

Holly B. (Green) Copeland, 54, of Wallingford, loving wife of Raymond G. Copeland Jr., passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, May 9, 2020, surrounded by her loving family after a brave battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Holly was a fighter until the very end, refusing to let cancer dictate her life. She shared her courage and laughter even in the darkest of times. It is because of her that we know what strength and perseverance look like. The family would like to thank Dr. Gerard Fumo and his wonderful team at Hartford Healthcare, Dr. Elizabeth Riordan, as well as the many incredible healthcare professionals that fought alongside Holly over the course of her entire journey.

Holly was born in Sanford, Maine, August 20, 1965, a daughter of the late John Green and Evelyn (Porter) Green and had been a Wallingford resident for 30 years, after moving from her hometown of Milford. She was a hard worker and a lifelong learner, continuing her education in her 40s to become a dental assistant. Because of her academic success, she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Holly started as a chairside dental assistant and ended her career in an administrative role at a private dental practice. Holly loved taking trips with her sisters and family, and would make regular visits to Vermont to spend time with her cousin. Anyone who knows Holly knows she loved lighthouses, hot coffee, good chocolate, crafting, and a book of any kind. Holly’s pride and joy were her 2 granddaughters, Penelope and Savannah, they were her only sunshine’s; her sparkly spirit will live on in them every day.

In addition to her beloved husband of 30 years, Raymond, she is survived by her daughter Miranda Peralta and her husband Francis of Meriden; her son Justin Copeland of Wallingford; her brothers and sisters Valerie (Larry) Pelletier of Arizona, Conrad (Deirdre) Green of Milford, Randy Green of Milford, Clifford Green of S. Carolina, Kelly Green of Milford, and Cary (Annie) Green of New Jersey; her two cherished granddaughters Penelope and Savannah; several nieces and nephews; and many dear cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Clay Green.

Funeral services for Holly are private, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
