Obituary: Jan Waszkiewicz, 70, of Wallingford

Jan, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, worked for the U.S. Department of Defense for 30 years and was a parishioner of SS. Peter & Paul Church.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Jan Waszkiewicz, 70, of Wallingford, died Tuesday, January 26, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Marcia (Hull) Waszkiewicz.

He was born in Germany, April 13, 1950, a son of the late Stanislaw and Aniela (Zahotyniec) Waszkiewicz and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He retired from the U.S. Department of Defense after a 30-year career. Jan was a parishioner of SS. Peter & Paul Church.

He will be missed by his wife; six children; and 22 grandchildren who affectionately called him, “Jaju”. As well as his three great grandchildren; his sister, Emilia Chrzanowski (Frank); his brother, Joseph Waszkiewicz (Pamela); three nephews and two nieces.

On Saturday January 30, 2021 the family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., in the Yalesville section of Wallingford, from 9:15 to 10:15 am when the funeral cortege will proceed to SS. Peter and Paul Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org)
