Obituary: Jayne (Munro) Sullivan, 88, of Wallingford

A charter member and past president of the Wallingford Jr. Women's Club, she will be remembered as a loving mother, friend and companion.

Jayne (Munro) Sullivan, 88, of Wallingford, loving wife of the late Richard F. Sullivan, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Hartford Hospital.

Jayne was born in Staten Island, NY, November 1, 1928, a daughter of the late Helen Munro and Edward Roberts and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. She had been employed as an LPN at Gaylord Hospital until her retirement.

Jayne was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School class of 46, and a member of the reunion committee. She was also a charter member, and past president of the Wallingford Jr. Women’s Club. Jayne loved to travel the world with dear friends, spending winters in Florida and summers on Cape Cod with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, friend, and companion, who loved good times and laughter.

She is survived by her two sons Robert M. Sullivan of Wallingford and Richard M. Sullivan and son-in-law Edward Quinn of Glastonbury; her grandson Robert L. Sullivan; and her nieces and nephews Jane, Robert, Charles, Peggy Jean, Ellen Jane, Douglas, and Larry. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Lynda Sullivan; and her two sisters Ellen Steffes and Peggy Ford.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Friday, February 24, 2017, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow in The Wallingford Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
