Obituary: John David Collett, 32, of Wallingford; Loyal Friend Who Loved the Outdoors

John David Collett, 32, of Wallingford, died Thursday, April 2, 2015, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
He was born in New Haven, March 23, 1983, a son of Renee L’Heureux Reid of Waterford and John C. Collett of Vermont. John loved all aspects of the outdoors from hiking to boating and fishing. He was someone you wanted to be around and was a selfless loyal friend who always had your back. He especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved fiancée, Heidi Jobbagy of Wallingford; his brothers, Tyler Reid of Wallingford, and Nathan Collett of Vermont; his sister, Ashley Canfield of North Carolina; his grandmother, Nina Collett; his uncles and aunts, Paul and Michelle Ferguson of Maine, Bett Collett of Pennsylvania, Sue Roy of Plainville, and David Blackert of Wallingford; his Godmother, Joann Miller of Guilford; many cousins; friends; the Jobbagy and Barsch families; and his best buddy, Diamond.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m. Family and friends will have an opportunity to share stories about John at 7 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT 06451.
