Obituary: Lisa Michelle Raubeson, 57, Of Wallingford
A beloved mother and grandmother, Lisa worked for AGC for over 30 years and developed strong friendships with several of her coworkers.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Lisa Michelle Raubeson, 57, of Wallingford, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Born in Danville, VA on October 14, 1964, she was the daughter of Joanne Williams and the late John W. “Billy” Abbott Sr.
Lisa worked for AGC for over 30 years and developed strong friendships with several of her coworkers. Lisa was born and raised in Danville, Virginia. Some of her favorite memories include camping at Smith Mountain lake with her family as a young girl.
Lisa met her soulmate David Polvani on a vacation in Las Vegas. The two became so helplessly in love with each other that Lisa packed her bags and moved to Connecticut to start a whole new life with him. They got married in 1987 and had their children in 1989 (David) and 1991 (Sarah). After the devastating loss, Lisa got remarried to John Raubeson, a man who loved to cook various Italian dinners for her every night. The two of them liked to go camping with John's family and drive down to visit Lisa’s mom Joanne.
Lisa was immensely proud of her children’s accomplishments. Her daughter Sarah served in the United States Navy and she kept all of her awards and uniforms as keepsakes. Lisa drove down to Virginia Beach to visit Sarah with her husband John, together they watched the blue angels fly. Later on they went out to dinner at the Black Angus steakhouse, a place Lisa frequently ate in as a little girl with her dad. Lisa had a newfound love when Sarah brought home her son Anthony, Lisa’s first grandchild. The memories of them having pillow fights on the couch in the living room and going to Christmas in the Village together will live on forever with him.
Lisa was there to witness her son David graduate college with a degree in Human Services and become a certified addiction counselor. She was so happy to be a part of his wedding, to his wife Giustina. As they shared the mother son dance to Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd she had tears of joy in her eyes. At first Lisa was afraid to hold his daughter Olivia due to her being so small, but as soon as she was in her arms, her entire world lit up.
She was incredibly blessed to have not only two beautiful successful children but now two beautiful grandchildren as well. Sarah and David will forever hold in their hearts their memories of their mom; making sandcastles at the beach, camping in Maine on vacation, cooking a hearty dinner, and Lisa’s signature smell, White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Polvani of Meriden; her son & daughter in law, David & Giustina Polvani of Meriden; her grandchildren, Anthony & Olivia; her mother and step father Joanne & Ruben Williams of VA; her brother, Timothy Abbott of VA; and numerous extended relatives and friends. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her first husband, David F. Polvani Sr. in 2003; her second husband, John C. Raubeson in 2014; and her brother, John W. “Johnny” Abbott Jr.
Lisa’s family invites her relatives and friends to The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext. on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
