Obituary: Michael P. Tierney, 53, of Wallingford

Michael P. Tierney, 53, of Wallingford, husband of Diane Tierney (Terribile), died unexpectedly March 12, 2017 at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC.

He was born in New Haven on April 19, 1963, a son of the late Edward F. and Maureen O’Connell Tierney.

He worked for the Town of Wallingford Electric Division and was an avid New York Giants fan. He was an incredibly loving husband, father, and grandfather, and his family always came before all else.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Dennis Adams (Adrienne), Louis Adams (Karen), Jeffrey Adams (Nick D’Agostino), and Patrick Tierney, all of Wallingford; his sisters, Patricia Reiss and Eileen Viglione, both of Guilford; his brother, Edward Tierney III of Guilford; his grandchildren, Amanda Adams and Alexa Adams; his aunt and uncles; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Bailey and Tucker, and cats, Inkers and Tinkers.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Friday, March 17, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with funeral services to be held at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
