Obituary: Stephen John Cortese, 30, Of Wallingford

Steve was a good friend to many people, an incredibly kind person and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by many.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Stephen John Cortese, 30, of Wallingford, passed away on Tuesday, July 27. He was born in Meriden on March 25, 1991, a son of Mary (Sekellick) Cortese and the late John Cortese.

Steve was a good friend to many people, an incredibly kind person and had a great sense of humor. He had a unique perspective on life, he loved to draw, skateboard, cook, work on Jeeps, play dominoes, play chess, and listen to all types of music from the Beatles to classical. Stephen enjoyed the humor of George Carlin, Sabastian Maniscalco and Kevin Hart. He was especially fond of watching wilderness survival shows on YouTube. He was a fan of the Titans and of the Yankees. Stephen enjoyed working at East Side Pizza with George, Angelo, and the rest of the East Side Pizza crew. Most recently he was employed at Napoli Pizza. He will be missed by many.

In addition to his mother, Mary Cortese, Stephen is survived by his brother, Michael Cortese and his wife, Heidi; his sister, Karen Cortese; his niece Grace Cortese; his nephew, John Cortese; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his father, John Cortese and his stillborn brother, Matthew.

The family is incredibly grateful to Steve's friends, especially Andrew and Tori, who he could always count on to be there for him. At this time there will not be a service. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
