Obituary: Wayne C. Moody, 58, of Wallingford

Wayne was a big animal lover, a talented writer and had a passion for reading. He loved boating, scuba diving and being near the ocean.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Wayne C. Moody, 58, of Wallingford, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Sandy (Zyjewski) Moody, his childhood sweetheart and soulmate.

Wayne was born in Boston, April 21, 1962, a son of Walter Toelle and the late Linda (Tucker) Toelle.

Wayne was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys. He loved boating, scuba diving and being near the ocean. Wayne was a big animal lover. He was a talented writer, who had a passion for reading. He had a great love for his country. Wayne had a wonderful sense of humor who always made people laugh with his wit and sarcasm. He had a fierce spirit who loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be forever missed.

Wayne was predeceased by his mother, Linda Toelle.

In addition to his wife Sandy, Wayne is survived by his father Walter Toelle (fiancée Joannie Sakora), his sisters Kimberly Stuart (Jimmy) and Tricia Buchholz (Dan), his brothers Mark Toelle and Christian Toelle (Kim), his brothers-in-law Mike Zyjewski and Steve Zyjewski, his sisters-in-law Karen Cyr (Paul) and Liz Zyjewski, his mother-in-law Maureen Zyjewski (late Anthony Zyjewski) and his nieces and nephews: Phoebe, Chloe, Brittany, Demiree, David (Erica), Paul (Jaelene), Ashley, Joe and Shannon.

He will always be remembered by his ‘Band of Brothers’: Garry, Bob, Paul, Tommy, Joe and Kenny.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Saturday, October 24, 2020, from 12 pm to 3pm. (Social distancing will be in practice and masks required).

Because Wayne touched many lives and made many dear friends, and due to current COVID capacity regulations, a private family service will be held Saturday at 3 pm. Friends are encouraged to attend via livestream available on Wayne’s online obituary page located at www.wallingfordfh.com.

Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sandy Moody at 96 Ward Street, Wallingford, CT 06492.
