Obituary: Wilfred 'Wil' Hamelin, 75, of Wallingford
Wil served in the Air Force as a Mechanic before working for NCR-New England. He was devoted to family and enjoyed coaching youth baseball.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Wilfred “Wil” Hamelin, 75, of Wallingford, husband of the late Joan (Caron) Hamelin, passed away January 21, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Wil was born in New Haven on August 25, 1945, a son of the late Ralph and Genevieve (Ferraiolo) Hamelin.
He served in the United States Air force as a Mechanic. Once released, he became a Field Engineer for NCR - New England.

He then evolved into a computer programming engineer.
Wil enjoyed his work. He also enjoyed the many passions in his life. He enjoyed the calm of fishing, the aspects of being a baseball coach with the mentoring and guiding of the kids.

However, the greatest of Wil's passions were being a great and devoted husband, a strong and understanding father, a caring friend, an uncle, a caregiver, a stand-up man and a very proud grandfather. Wil loved his family and worked hard and sacrificed for the well-being of his family.
Wil enjoyed having a great time with his family.
Wil is survived by his sons, William T. Hamelin of Meriden, Brian A. Hamelin of Wallingford and Robert R. Hamelin and his wife, Tammy, of Wallingford; his daughter, Krista Seay and her husband, Edward, of Wallingford; his sister, Melita Bosnyak of Rhode Island; his brothers, Lawrence Hamelin of Florida and Glen Hamelin Georgia; his grandsons, William, Nicholas and Matthew Seay; and several nieces and nephews.
His family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 2 pm until 4 pm.
A service will follow at 4 pm in the funeral home.
Interment will be private. COVID-19 precautions and face covering are required at the funeral home.
