Obituary: William R. Hinman, 59; Former Wallingford Resident
William was a 1975 graduate of Mark T. Sheehan High School where he played on the hockey team. He also worked at Amtrak.

William R. Hinman, 59, of Meriden, formerly of Wallingford and Tupper Lake, N.Y., died Monday, October 24, 2016, at home.
He was born in New Haven, November 21, 1956, a son of the late Lawrence T. and Dorothy (Wischert) Hinman and was a 1975 graduate of Mark T. Sheehan H.S. where he played on the hockey team. He was employed by Amtrak and later by The Point at Saranac Lake, N.Y. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his siblings, Nancy Crowther (James), Kathleen Battles (Jerry), Edward Hinman and Robert Hinman (Kerin); his nieces and nephews, James Jr., Jennifer, Jerry, Michael, David, Timothy, Lawrence III, Rebecca, Coral, Mary Katherine, Maureen and Eileen. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Dorothy Wischert; his brother, Lawrence T. Hinman, Jr.; his niece Michelle Mary Crowther; and his sister-in-law, Helen Hinman.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, Friday, Oct, 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Interment will be private. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
