OSHA Cites Wallingford Company for Violations in Chemical Spill
OSHA is proposing fines following an investigation into the spill at a freight shipping terminal.

OSHA is proposing fines of $86,900 to R + L Carriers for “serious violations” of workplace safety standards at its Wallingford location, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
The Record Journal reports that OSHA was investigating a chemical spill that took place at the freight shipping company’s terminal on North Plains Industrial Highway in October.
The investigators found that employees faced “dangerous chemical, fire and explosion hazards” and that management lacked an emergency response plan and hadn’t trained employees as first responders, according to the Record-Journal.
