Passing Motorists Help Driver Out of Tractor-Trailer Fully Engulfed in Flames in Wallingford
The rollover accident caused heavy delays on I-91 in Wallingford during Tuesday morning's commute.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Passing motorists helped a driver out of a tractor-trailer that was fully engulfed in flames following a rollover accident that caused heavy delays during Tuesday morning’s commute on I-91 North in Wallingford.
The truck flipped over near Exit 15 at about 4:30 a.m. and went up in flames, according to NBC Connecticut.
The driver, Dominique Phill Jenkins, 26, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to Connecticut State Police.
Police said Jenkins lost control of the vehicle and veered right off the travel portion of the roadway and into the shoulder. The tractor-trailer then went over the wire rope guard and struck a DOT exit sign that caused it to be breached and lose its cargo onto the highway, according to police.
NBC reports the right and center lanes were closed for hours as crews cleaned up fuel that spilled and investigated the crash.
Jenkins was issued an infraction for failure to maintain established lane, according to police.
