Pat Wall Baseball Field Parking Lot Proposal Focus of Special Wallingford Town Council Meeting

The special meeting will be held Tuesday evening at Town Hall.

The Wallingford Town Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday, Jan. 6 to discuss plans to turn a vacant lot into a 50-space parking lot next to the Pat Wall baseball field on South Elm Street.

The council unanimously approved purchasing the property for $135,000 in October, 2014, but the parking plan needs approval from the Planning and Zoning Commission before the purchase can be finalized, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The commission postponed a vote late last year and asked for changes, according to the Record-Journal, and it is expected to resume discussion at its meeting next week on Jan. 12.
