Extra patrols were focused on promoting safe driving during the recent 'Click-It-Or-Ticket' campaign.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Police Department issued nearly 140 infractions and arrested two suspects on arrest warrants during the recent “Click It or Ticket” campaign. Extra patrols were dedicated to enforce seat belt violations on Nov. 20, 21, and 27.
“Funding for this effort was made available by the police department’s participation in a State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Click-it or Ticket Grant,” Lt. Anthony DeMaio wrote in a press release. “The funding supported the staffing necessary to allow officers to specifically dedicate our efforts on seatbelt enforcement in a continual endeavor to reduce injuries and fatalities resulting from traffic accidents.”
The traffic division targeted the areas of Ward Street at Valley Street, North Main Extension at Cedar Street, and the River Road at North Turnpike Road at the RT 15 entry/exit, according to DeMaio.
