Recount Triggered for State House Race in Wallingford
An automatic recount has been triggered for the tight race in the 103rd District, which covers Cheshire, Southington and Wallingford.

CHESHIRE, CT — An automatic recount has been triggered for the tight race between Democrat Liz Linehan and Republican Andrew Falvey in the 103rd State House District, which covers Cheshire, Southington and Wallingford.
Linehan currently has a 5,471 to 5,417 lead for the open seat of Republican Al Adinolfi, who announced earlier this year that he wouldn’t seek re-election.
“Recanvasses are required when results show the margin of victory to be less than ½ of 1 percent of votes cast for that office, or less than 20 votes,” Patrick Gallahue, a spokesman for Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, said in a press release. “In the event of a recanvass for statewide office, the standard would be less than ½ of 1 percent of votes cast but not more than 2,000 votes. The process is facilitated by the head moderator of each town, who has 5 business days to complete the recount.”

Gallahue said the deadline for the recount will be Nov. 16 because of the Veterans Day holiday.
On Tuesday night, Linehan thanked her supporters on Facebook and said the recount would be triggered, “but I have no reason to believe the results will change. My opponent has conceded to the press. Thank you to all who came out in support. I am humbled and honored to serve.”
