Report: Man Tries to Eat Marijuana During Traffic Stop to Hide it from Police

The North Haven man was recently arrested for the incident in Wallingford.

A North Haven man is accused of tampering with evidence after Wallingford police say he attempted to eat a small amount of marijuana during a traffic stop last month, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports Matthew G. Aveni, 23, of 19 Fawn Ridge, North Haven, was arrested Aug. 26 after being pulled over for a motor vehicle violation and then allegedly tried to eat about one gram of marijuana in an attempt to hide it.

Aveni was unable to swallow the marijuana.
