Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Hilton Valentine Performs at Wallingford Public Library

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Hilton Valentine will perform at Wallingford Public Library on Friday, November 6th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available free of charge from the library’s information desk, however quantities are limited.

Hilton Valentine is best known for his work as the guitarist with the sixties British Invasion group, The Animals. He made his name in Rock & Roll, earning a worldwide number one hit with House Of The Rising Sun, nine additional top 40 hits such as We Gotta Get Out Of This Place, It’s My Life, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood, Don’t Bring Me Down, I’m Crying, and more; achieving gold records, a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and in Hollywood’s Rock Walk of Fame, but his beginnings were based on Folk.

Since 2004, he has released two acoustic albums featuring not only his self-penned music but the Skiffle music and early Rock & Roll that started him on his path to worldwide success. His solo acoustic tracks have been described by critics as “hauntingly compelling in their understated anger.” Quoting another critic about his Skiffle and R&R numbers, “ it really rocks out, acoustic instruments and all…and gets this listener’s pulse rising and his feet tapping, so that by “Gamblin’ Man” I was dancing around my apartment the first time I played this!”

Whether he’s playing Rock & Roll on a stage in front of thousands, or in an intimate acoustic setting, Hilton’s soul comes pouring out of his guitar and into the ears of delighted listeners.
