School Supplies Drive At Wallingford Police Department
The Wallingford Police Department will host its annual School Supplies Drive on Sept. 12.
WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Police Department will hold its annual School Supplies Drive from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, Sept. 12.
“The coronavirus pandemic has caused a greater need for supplies due to the fact that as a safety precaution, these items may not be shared between students,” Sgt. David Blythe, supervisor of the department’s Community Police Division, wrote in a news release. “This year and as a result, there is a special request for masks and calculators in addition to standard supplies such as backpacks, pens, pencils and crayons, rulers, glue sticks, paper and notebooks.
“Our officers will be wearing face masks and stationed in the rear parking lot of the police department located at 135 North Main Street to accept donations. Those who wish to donate will not need to leave their vehicles and can exit our parking lot onto Center Street.

“As the pandemic continues to affect our lives, the Wallingford Police Department remains committed to assisting our community. That commitment is highlighted in our Mission Statement which reads:
