Six Charged for Fight at Wallingford Home: Police
Police say six Waterbury residents, four adults and two teens, allegedly traveled to Wallingford to confront a resident and were arrested.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Six Waterbury residents were arrested after police say they were involved in a fight at a Hosford Street home on Saturday night.
Four adults and two juveniles were charged in connection to the fight in which they allegedly traveled from Waterbury to Wallingford to confront a male resident of the Hosford Street home. A 24-year-old female resident attempted to prevent the confrontation and was assaulted, according to Lt. Richard Homestead.
Police received a 911 call at about 7:12 p.m. on April 16 reporting that an assault had taken place at 12 Hosford Street. It was further reported that as many as 10 suspects had knives and guns and had fled the scene in a vehicle heading north toward Walmart, according to Homestead.

A vehicle description and marker number was provided and numerous police units were dispatched to the area.
Moments later, a patrol officer saw the suspect vehicle, a brown 2004 Honda CRV with the matching marker number driving north on North Colony Road (Route 5).

Homestead said a motor vehicle stop was made near the intersection with Pent Highway and the six persons (four adults and two teenagers) inside, were removed and detained.
They were all then placed under arrest for the incident on Hosford Street.
Among the items seized as evidence from inside the vehicle were two knives and approximately 8 grams of marijuana, according to Homestead.
Homestead said no firearms were located and, with the exception of the initial 911 call, no firearms were reported to have been used or observed during this incident.
Nelson Rodriguez was in possession of one of these knives and allegedly used it in a threatening manner while on Hosford Street.
No knife-related injuries were reported, according to Homestead.
While this vehicle stop was taking place, other units responded to 12 Hosford Street. The 24-year-old female resident had sustained minor injuries as a result of the physical altercation with the occupants of the Honda CRV. She was evaluated by medical personnel and released at the scene.
Homestead said it is believed Nelson Rodriguez and the other occupants of the CRV traveled from Waterbury to Wallingford in order to confront a male resident of 12 Hosford Street. The 24-year-old woman was assaulted while attempting to prevent the confrontation.
Wallingford Police arrested the following:
- Nelson Rodriguez, 19, of 356 Waterville Avenue, on charges of third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, conspiracy to commit second-degree breach of peace, second-degree threatening, and possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana.
- Justin Molina, 22, of 34 Hickory Street, Waterbury, on charges of third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, conspiracy to commit second-degree breach of peace, and possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana.
- Benito Valenzuela Jr., 19, of 21 Wall Street, Waterbury, on charges of third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, conspiracy to commit second-degree breach of peace, and possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana.
- Jheridania Mejia-Bonilla, 23, of 21 Wall Street, Waterbury, on charges of third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, conspiracy to commit second-degree breach of peace, and possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana.
They were each held on a $5,000 bond and given a court date of April 29 at Meriden Superior Court.
The two juveniles were also arrested and charged with third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, conspiracy to commit second-degree breach of peace and possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana.
Homestead said one of the teens was also charged with interfering with an officer for initially providing an incorrect date of birth. Both juveniles were released to the custody of a parent and have been assigned dates at juvenile court. Because of their ages (16 and 17), their identities weren’t released.
