Some Wallingford Absentee Ballots Sent With Wrong Candidate
More than 260 absentee ballots that were recently sent out in Wallingford may have the wrong candidate listed for state representative.
WALLINGFORD, CT — More than 260 absentee ballots that were recently sent out in Wallingford may have the wrong candidate listed for the state House of Representative seats, according to multiple reports.
The Meriden Record-Journal first reported that a computer coding error listed the Nov. 3 election as a municipal election, instead of a general election. As a result, the system didn’t pick up the state House seats and 261 absentee ballots were sent out that might contain an incorrect candidate for the voter district, according to the Record-Journal.
Town Clerk Barbara Thompson told the New Haven Register some of the ballots have already come back and not all of them were wrong. They have sent out replacement ballots for the ones that had the wrong voting district information, according to the Register.
