Students Get Free Haircuts At Special Needs School In Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — Students at the High Road School of Wallingford had the opportunity Tuesday morning to get a free haircut by local barbers who offer their services as a way to give back to children in need.

The fades and trims took place in the on-campus barbershop, Hornet’s Lounge, which serves as a training ground for students. Local barbers from the “Cutting Edge” volunteer their services in an effort to help students and know firsthand a new haircut can mean a boost of confidence, better self-image and new sense of normalcy.

The team of barbers will also show students different types of cutting tools, styling techniques, and the day-to-day tasks involved with running a barber shop, and also showcase viable career skills, and to some, a promising career path.
