ID Released In Fatal I-91 Truck Accident In Wallingford: UPDATE

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Uniondale, New York man was killed Friday morning when his car veered off of Interstate 91 and ended up striking a tree by Exit 14, State Police said.

At 4:43 a.m. Friday, Ashley L. Bennett, 41, of Uniondale, NY was driving on I-91 northbound in the right lane about a half mile before the Exit 14 on-ramp.

For an unknown reason, Bennett's truck swerved off the right shoulder and down the grassy embankment, State Police said. Bennett's truck continued to travel down the embankment and collided with a tree.

He was found unresponsive and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital suffering from serious injuries. Bennett would later die at the hospital as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash, State Police said.
