‘Trump Wall’ Float Rolls Through Wallingford
A controversial pro-Trump 'unity bridge' float stopped by Wallingford this week as part of a nationwide tour.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The “Trump Unity Bridge” float rolled through Wallingford on Monday as part of a nationwide tour to drum up support for President Donald Trump and his controversial plan to build a wall at the southern border. The Meriden Record-Journal reports the float was built by Michigan-based warehouse manager Robert Cortis, who parked the trailer at Cariati Developers at 70 North Plains Industrial Road with the full support of the business.
As would be expected, the trailer garnered plenty of interest while it was in Wallingford with many passing motorists honking their approval with others shouting in opposition, according to the Record-Journal.
The trailer, which was on its way to Washington, D.C. after its time in Wallingford, has created plenty of buzz and controversy on its tour. A man was arrested for stealing an American flag off the float as went through Manhattan on Sunday, according to the New York Post. Cortis was also criticized for blaring music while driving past a vigil in Cleveland that was being held in honor of the victims of the New Zealand mosque attacks, according to reports.
