Wallingford ARPA Grant Applications Start Soon, Details Announced
Small businesses and local nonprofit organizations can apply for grants under the American Rescue Plan Act starting next week.
WALLINGFORD, CT — The town of Wallingford has announced that small businesses and nonprofit organizations can apply for grants under the American Rescue Plan Act starting next week.
The online grant application portal process opens Oct. 10 and closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 9, Mayor William Dickinson Jr. announced in a news release.
The portal is accessible through the town’s website at www.wallingfordct.gov. Paper applications will be available at the Town Clerk’s Office at Town Hall, 45 South Main St. Completed paper applications should be submitted by mail or in person to the Town Clerk.

The town’s consultant, UHY Advisors, LLC, will hold a webinar from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 12 to explain the application, approval process and answer questions. The webinar will be available through a link on the town’s website, according to the news release.
Grants will be in an amount up to $25,000, according to Dickinson.

“Small businesses must currently be in business and have been in business since 2019,” Dickinson wrote in the news release. “They must show that they suffered a negative impact from COVID. Small businesses are defined as no more than 60 employees (FTE).
“Nonprofits must currently serve the residents of Wallingford and must have done so since 2019. Nonprofits must show that they have suffered a negative impact or will offer a program benefitting Wallingford residents impacted by the pandemic.”
Once applications have been received by Dec. 10, the ARPA Review Committee will review and make recommendations regarding approval of grants from the ARPA funds. The recommendations will then be sent to Dickinson and the Town Council for review and appropriation of funds, according to the news release.
