Wallingford Board of Education announces launch of updated website

The Town of Wallingford Board of Education recently announced the launch of a new update to the website for the Wallingford Public School system. These updates will serve to facilitate improved communication between the district and parents, students, teachers and other stakeholders.

The updated website will ensure that parents will have timely access to the latest information, with a revamped layout providing parents quick, convenient access to the information they are looking for. This will advance the district’s goal of providing effective communication to the community, while providing parents and other interested parties with the tools they need to optimize their children’s educational experience.

“These changes to our website will make it easier for parents, students, teachers, town residents and other interested parties to quickly find the information they are looking for,” said Danielle Bellizzi, Superintendent of Wallingford Public Schools. “The updated information, revised formatting and improved user interface will create value for local residents looking for specific information, allowing them to find what they are looking for in an easy, efficient manner.”

These website changes will lead to improved experiences for all of the district stakeholders, from parents to students to teachers and district administrators. Improved communication, easier access to pertinent information and a more informed community will improve the experiences of WPS students, reduce stress on parents and optimize the district’s efficiency.

“Our new website also allows for language translation through Weglot,” said Karen Veilleux, Director of Information Technology. “Our families speak close to 40 different languages, it is important they can get the information they need in their native language.”

“We are excited to unveil our updated website, which will keep parents and residents well-informed by making important information easier to access than ever before,” added Francis Thompson, Assistant Superintendent for Personnel at Wallingford Public Schools. “By providing as much information as we can in an easily accessible format, we will give parents the tools they need to be fully informed about their child’s education.”

Consisting of eight elementary schools (Cook Hill, E.C. Stevens, Highland, Moses Y. Beach, Parker Farms, Pond Hill, Rock Hill and Mary G. Fritz), two middle schools (Dag Hammarskjold and James H. Moran), and two high schools (Lyman Hall and Mark T. Sheehan), the Wallingford Public School System serves more than 5,000 students. WPS is open to all Wallingford students, as well as a small number of students from surrounding towns through specialized programs such as the VO-AG program at Lyman Hall.
