Wallingford Company’s Donation to Fund New Crime Scene Vehicle for Police Department
The donated money will be used to refurbish an old ambulance into a crime scene and critical incident response vehicle.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Police Department would like to express sincere appreciation to Nucor Steel Connecticut in Wallingford for their generous donation presented to the agency.
Nucor Steel has a long history of giving back to the community and this year, the Wallingford Police Department was elected as one of the primary recipients along with the Spanish Community of Wallingford.

On Sept. 29, Nucor sponsored the 4th annual Nucor Steel Connecticut Charity Golf Tournament at Lyman Orchard Golf Course in Middlefield. The tournament raised just over $34,000 to be donated to several organizations.
On Oct. 13, Nucor Human Resources Supervisor, Tracy Guyette and General Manager Doug Adams presented Chief Wright and other members of the Wallingford Police Department with a check in the amount of $14,000.

The donated money will be used to refurbish an old ambulance that was given to the police department from the Wallingford Fire Department. This vehicle will be utilized as a crime scene and critical incident response vehicle.
The Wallingford Police Department is thankful to businesses like Nucor that, through their generosity, allow us to strengthen our resources to better serve the community.
