Wallingford to Consider Regulation Change that Could Allow Medical Marijuana Facility in Town
The Planning and Zoning Commission will discuss the issue at an upcoming meeting.

The Wallingford Planning and Zoning Commission will discuss a possible regulation change that would allow a medical marijuana facility in town at its upcoming meeting on March 24, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
While the regulation may allow for a facility to be in town, Jerry Farrell Jr., who was part of a group that tried to open one in Meriden last year, told the Record-Journal it was unlikely a facility would come to Wallingford in the near future.
In fact, Farrell, a lawyer in town and a former Wallingford councilor, said it was “unlikely that the state will grant any new licenses for quite some time,” because the number of patients that have signed up to get medical marijuana hasn’t increased considerably and the existing businesses that received licenses are struggling, according to the Record-Journal.
