Wallingford Election 2015 Results: Winner Declared in Mayor's Race (Updated)

Voters also decided key races for Town Council and the Board of Education Tuesday night.

In addition to a big win by Incumbent Mayor William Dickinson Jr., Wallingford Republicans maintained control of the Town Council and the Board of Education in Tuesday’s municipal election.

Luther Turmelle of the New Haven Register reports incumbent Republicans Vincent Cervoni, Tom Laffin, John LeTourneau and Craig Fishbein also retained their seats while former Board of Education members Joe Morrone and Chris Shortell were elected to the council.

Democratic incumbent Larry Russo Jr. lost his seat while incumbents John Sullivan and Vincent Testa and former Councilman Jason Zandri all won election, according to Turmelle.

Incumbent Republican J.P. Bolat lost his bid for a full-term on the Board of Education.

The new Board of Education will be comprised of Republicans Roxane McKay, Karen Hlavac, Michael Brooder, Amanda Doerr, Shauna Glidden and Democrats Kathy Castelli, Michael Votto, Jay Cei and Patrick Reynolds, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

Wallingford Republican Mayor William Dickinson Jr. earned a 17th term as mayor with a victory over Petitioning Candidate Donald Kennedy on Tuesday night.

Luther Turmelle of the New Haven Register reports Dickinson received 5,504 votes to Kennedy’s 2,222 (with no absentee ballots counted).

In other races, Republicans maintained a 6-3 majority on the Town Council, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

Wallingford Board of Education incumbents Mike Votto, Roxanne McKay, Jay Cei, Kathy Castelli and Karen Hlvac all won re-election, according to Turmelle.

Incumbent J.P. Bolat lost his bid for a full-term.
