Wallingford Election 2016 Results: Winners Declared in State Races

Results for state senate and house races.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford town councilman Craig Fishbein defeated Democrat Patrick Reynolds in the 90th State House District for the seat of longtime Democratic legislator Mary Fritz, who passed away in July.

In the 85th State House District, longtime Democratic incumbent Mary Mushinsky defeated Republican Serge Mihaly 4,922 to 3,820, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s office.

In the 103rd State House District, Democrat Liz Linehan defeated Republican Andrew Falvey in a tight vote, 5,356 to 5,240, according to the New Haven Register.

In the 86th State House District, five-term Republican incumbent Vincent Candelora won another term by defeating Petitioning candidate Vincent J. Mase.

Republican incumbent Len Fasano ran unopposed in the 34th State Senate District and won another term.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford residents will head to the polls on Nov. 8 for the 2016 midterm election. Polling places in Wallingford will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. On the ballot, registered voters in Wallingford will be able to select candidates for president and vice president, United States senator, representatives to U.S. Congress, state senator, state representative, and registrar of voters.

In Wallingford, Republican incumbent Len Fasano is running unopposed in the 34th State Senate District, which covers Durham, East Haven, North Haven and Wallingford.

Fasano, who was elected to the seat in 2003, is currently the Senate Minority Leader and has previously served as a Senate Deputy Minority Leader and Senate Minority Leader Pro Tempore.

In the 103rd State House District, Democrat Liz Linehan and Republican Andrew Falvey are facing off for the seat of incumbent Republican Al Adinolfi, who announced earlier this year that he wouldn’t seek re-election.

Linehan is currently a member of the Cheshire Town Council and Falvey is a former council member.

In the 85th State House District, Longtime Democratic incumbent Mary Mushinsky is being challenged by Republican Serge Mihaly.

Mushinsky has held various leadership positions, including co-chair of the legislature's bipartisan Program Review and Investigations Committee, specializing in preparing workforce for a changing economy, retraining older and long term unemployed workers, apprenticeships, and improving efficiency of state programs.

Mihaly, a former college football player at Yale, is a former teacher, a hunter, and a conservationist who writes an Outdoor column for the New Haven Register.

In the 86th State House District, five-term Republican incumbent Vincent Candelora is being challenged by Petitioning candidate Vincent J. Mase.

In the 90th State House District, Democrat Patrick Reynolds and Republican Craig Fishbein are vying for the seat of longtime Democratic legislator Mary Fritz, who passed away in July.

Reynolds is serving his third term on the Wallingford Board of Education, while Fishbein, a local attorney, is serving his fourth term on the Wallingford Town Council.

Democrat Betty Torre and Republican Chet Miller are the candidates for registrars of voters.

The candidates for president and vice president are Republicans Donald Trump and Mike Pence, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Libertarians Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.

For United States Senate the candidates are Richard Blumenthal, Democrat, Dan Carter, Republican, Richard Lion, Libertarian, and Jeffrey Russell, Green Party.

For United States Congress the choice is between Democratic incumbent Rosa DeLauro and Angel Cadena, a Republican.
