The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Finances As I did in my previous 2 budgets as a Town Councilor, I will continue to diligently search through our budget to find savings. By providing affordable taxes and utilities, and Wallingford residents and businesses can thrive.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
My 15 years in our family business have given me the knowledge to see how government regulations, red tape, and taxes directly affect the lives of businesses and workers. I am not afraid to question the status quo, and to spend time researching and presenting ideas that may not have been used before.
Accomplishments:
As a steward of your money, my budget plan lowered the mill rate and kept taxes affordable. Also, my resolution to install air conditioning in the animal shelter passed unanimously, and it won't cost taxpayers a dime.
Other issues:
In the next term, I would hope to take a better look at town-owned properties to see if we can make better use of them, and for example the historic train station. This could revitalize the area and also create some revenue for the town.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
No matter your political affiliation, I represent all citizens and businesses with a common-sense approach. I worked on several bi-partisan initiatives, because I believe a good idea is a good idea, and no matter who it comes from!
