A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier is being hailed as a hero for his actions during a fire that displaced dozens of people from their homes.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Wallingford mail carrier is being credited with saving lives for his actions during a devastating fire at the Terrace Gardens apartment complex earlier this week that left dozens of people displaced from their homes, according to WTNH News 8.
WTNH reports Michael Waite was on his regular route around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday and had just delivered a package when he saw a man come out of the building with no shirt on and smoke billowing over his head.
Waite told WTNH that when he saw flames getting bigger, he just started running door to door, slamming on the doors and yelling “Fire” to get people out of the building.
