Wallingford Man Accused of Firing Gun While Intoxicated

The 60-year-old man was charged after police say he fired a gun in his backyard.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A 60-year-old Wallingford man is accused of firing a gun in his backyard while intoxicated, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports David Benoit, of 36 Pond Hill Road, was recently arrested on a warrant for the April 30 incident.

Benoit was hospitalized on April 30 for injuries he sustained in a fall and police later found two shell casings on his property and began investigating, according to the Record-Journal.

Benoit had been drinking alcohol with another man earlier in the day and both men blamed the other for firing the gun, according to the Record-Journal.
