Wallingford Man Accused of Shoplifting with Child in Tow

Bruce Steiniger, 28, was arrested on a warrant for incident that took place at Stop and Shop in North Haven.

North Haven police have arrested a 28-year-old Wallingford man for allegedly shoplifting with a young child in tow at the Stop and Shop on Washington Avenue.

Bruce Steiniger was arrested on a warrant Friday for the alleged August shoplifting incident.

North Haven police said Steiniger was seen on surveillance video pushing a shopping cart with a young child seated in it. Steiniger placed several items of merchandise in the cart and fled the store.

Steiniger was charged with risk of injury to a minor and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a $15,000 court set bond.
