Wallingford Man Assaulted Girlfriend’s Ex-Boyfriend On Farmington Canal Trail: Hamden Police
The suspect is accused of repeatedly striking the victim's head against a concrete wall during the assault, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A Wallingford man is accused of assaulting his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend on the Farmington Canal Trail in Hamden over the summer, according to police. At about 3 a.m. on Aug. 18, Hamden Police responded to the Farmington Canal Trail on the report of an assault, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that a 25-year-old Hamden resident was meeting with his ex-girlfriend on the “canal line.”
“Myles Oros, her current boyfriend, quickly approached and struck him in the head with an unknown object,” Smith said in a press release. “Oros then repeatedly struck the victim’s head against a concrete wall.”

The victim attempted to leave the area, but was “choked” by Oros, according to Smith. The victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with serious injuries. (To sign up for Wallingford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Officer William Pesanelli conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Oros.

Oros turned himself in at Hamden Police Headquarters on Sept. 30. Oros, 27, of High Hill Road in Wallingford, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree breach of peace. He was detained on a court-ordered $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 13.
