Wallingford Man Hospitalized After Stabbing In Hamden: Police

A man is accused of stabbing a Wallingford man multiple times during an argument late Tuesday night in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man was arrested after police say he stabbed a Wallingford man multiple times during an argument late Tuesday night. Police responded to Towne House Road in Hamden at about 11 p.m. on June 18 on the report of a stabbing.

Arriving officers found a 37-year-old Wallingford resident lying on the ground with two stab wounds, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. The victim had been stabbed on the forearm and wrist and officers immediately rendered medical assistance, Smith said.

Hamden Fire Rescue responded and provided medical treatment and the victim was taken to a local hospital, according to Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that the victim arrived at the home in the 100 block of Towne House Road and became engaged in a verbal argument with resident James Jansen.

Jansen subsequently stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife, according to Smith. The victim wasn't identified by police.

Jansen, 35, of Towne House Road, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault. He was detained on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on July 3.
