Wallingford Mayor Addresses Storm Damage
Mayor Dickinson advises residents to stay indoors to avoid injury from damaged trees and branches.

Message from Wallingford Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. concerning the town’s storm damage (via Wallingford Fire Department IAFF Local 1326):
The town sustained widespread damage to trees, power lines and some structures. Safety is a primary concern and first priority. If wires are down in your area stay indoors, do not attempt to move wires or branches, and wait for crews from the Electric Division. During the night stay indoors to avoid injury from damaged trees and branches. Electric Division crews have been out and working since shortly after the storm. Mutual assistance has been requested from other utilities. Wallingford Fire is assisting the Electric division in identifying hazards. The Electric Division, Fire Department, Police Department and Public Works are planning to be working all night. We will mitigate hazardous conditions first, then restore power incrementally by repairing distribution feeders. The restoration process may result in the temporary loss of power in some energized areas until repairs are completed elsewhere. If you need to contact personnel for non-emergency reasons, please use these telephone numbers. Electric Division 203-294-2298, Police and Fire 203-294-2800. For emergency calls, always use 911.
