Wallingford Nursing Home Fined: Report
The state Department of Public Health fined six nursing homes for various violations, including incidents in which a resident was injured.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford was recently fined $7,800 by the state Department of Public Health after a resident with dementia fell from an X-ray table to the floor, according to the Connecticut Health I-Team.
Cara Rosner of the Connecticut Health I-Team reports the resident fell last August and suffered a head laceration that required five sutures. The resident wasn’t secured with safety straps because the X-ray technician had said none were available, according to the report.
Safety straps were purchased for the X-ray table after the incident, Rosner reports.
