Wallingford Police Department Participates in United Bank Yellow Dot Program

The Yellow Dot Program helps protect the lives of senior drivers.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford Mayor William Dickinson, Police Chief William Wright, Deputy Chief Marc Mikulski, Sgt. Samselski, Officer D’Addio and additional members of the police department teamed up with People’s United Bank for Yellow Dot Day at the Wallingford Senior Center on May 10.

The Yellow Dot Program alerts emergency personnel to vital information about an elderly driver that is stored in their vehicle’s glove compartment.

During the event more than 50 seniors signed up for the program. Each participant received a Yellow Dot information card to be filled out with emergency contacts, medications, allergies, medical history, hospital preference and information about any pets at home that may need care for.

Participants were helped with the process of filling out the cards and officers affixed the Yellow Dot decals in the rear windshields of their vehicles.
