Wallingford Police Make Arrest in String of Recent Armed Robberies

A man with a rifle attempted two robberies in four days, including the Pit Stop convenience store Wednesday night.

Wallingford police have charged a town man in connection with a string of recent armed robberies, including the Pit Stop convenience store Wednesday night, according to multiple reports.

Dustin Chasse, 25, of 962 Clintonville Road, was arrested soon after detectives watched surveillance video from the Pit Stop robbery and noticed that the suspect matched the description of a person who attempted to rob Primo Pizza on Sunday night, according to NBC Connecticut.

The Meriden Record-Journal reports that police went to Chasse’s home and quickly developed probable cause that he was responsible for the robbery at the Pit Stop and linked him to the robbery attempt at Primo Pizza while at police headquarters.

Chasse was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal use of a firearm for the robbery at the Pit Stop. He was also charged with attempted first-degree robbery, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal use of a firearm for the attempted robbery at Primo Pizza.
