Wallingford Police Urge Residents to Use Caution with Online Transactions

Police also encourage residents to utilize the police department parking lot when making exchanges, such as for a Craigslist transaction.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Police Department is urging residents to use caution when conducting online selling and buying transactions with anonymous people.

Police also advise residents to refrain from providing personal information, such as your address, date of birth and bank account information in the transactions.

“We also strongly encourage people to utilize the front parking area of the police department at 135 North Main Street to make any exchanges as a result of an online buying or selling transaction,” Lt. Cheryl Bradley said. “The parking lot is well lit and under 24-hour camera surveillance. It is also in close proximity to the main entrance to the police department and there are police personnel in the building at all times.”
