Wallingford Public Library to Hold 135th Annual Meeting with Featured Speakers.
State Poet Laureate Rennie McQuilkin and Wallingford Poet Laureate Tarn Granucci will speak at WPL's upcoming annual meeting.

Wallingford Public Library will host Rennie McQuilkin Connecticut’s Poet Laureate (2015-2020), and induct Tarn Granucci as the Town of Wallingford’s first Poet Laureate at the Library’s 135th annual meeting Monday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the public is invited for refreshments followed by a brief library business meeting. Induction of Wallingford’s first poet laureate, Tarn Granucci will take place at 7:00 p.m. followed by a presentation by featured speaker and Connecticut Poet Laureate Rennie McQuilkin.
As it celebrates its 135th year, the Wallingford Public Library continues its mission to offer a wide array of resources and experiences and connect people in the community with ideas and with each other. “The evening will showcase the impact poetry has on everyday life and how poetry can be used to inspire, inform, and entertain the community at large. We are delighted to have our own poet laureate here in Wallingford and look forward to Tarn’s service as the ambassador of the community’s vibrant literary life, promoting its literary community and celebrating the written word and how it can strengthen and support communities,” said library director Jane Fisher. The Wallingford Public Library is an association library and membership is open to anyone for a nominal annual contribution. Association members are eligible to vote at the library’s annual meeting.
