Wallingford Reaches Legal Limit for Liquor Stores: Report

The town has reached the maximum amount of package stores allowed, according to a Connecticut state law.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford has reached its legal limit of liquor stores it is allowed to have in town, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports that with the recent approval of a liquor store permit at the site of the former Suburban Market on Hope Hill Road, Wallingford will have 18 package stores — the maximum allowed for the town under state law.

There will be no more liquor store permits issued in Wallingford unless a business closes or is sold due to a state law that limits package store permits to one for every 2,500 residents in a town, according to the Record-Journal.
